We love the Door in a Door

We had numerous issues with a couple of French Door refrigerators so we decided to go back to the side by side. Then we discovered the Door-in-a-Door option with this LG model and that was the decision maker for us. It is so handy to open just the Door-in-a-Door to grab our most-selected foods such as condiments butter drinks and sandwich-making items. The ice maker works great. The ability to dump out the ice cubes to put into a cooler is very easy to do. The water filter changing process is much easier than other refrigerators we have had. And the water and ice dispensers are perfect for filling up our drink glasses. There is plenty of space for everything we need in both the refrigerator and freezer areas. We are very satisfied with everything about this refrigerator and highly recommend it.

This fridge is awesome. The small door makes it super easy to get frequently used items quickly the black stainless stays clean and smudge/fingerprint free and the icemaker works perfectly unlike some other brands and the water line doesnt freeze over. The filter is very easy to replace.

Its a nice fridge but wasnt expecting when we had it just about 3 years that it would breakdown on us so quickly. The compressor went bad and it ruined all our food. But thank goodness because I stumbled upon LGs website and a rep told me about the warranty on it. The only thing is is that many reps and the call was routed outside the US the only thing they did was try to get me off the phone. I was disappointed. Then I got some lovely rep who helped me get to a higher rep team both of these reps gave me the true situation on my fridge: thank you.sure it didnt help get it fixed any sooner but at least I got info on what was really going on.

Great refrigerator until it quit working.

I really loved the door in door feature and the ice maker. But it was only 5 years old and I came home one day and the freezer had quit working and the fridge had quit cooling. I lost hundreds of dollars of food. LG told me they couldnt send a repair person the rest of the month and they were going to try to find some other company. I never heard from them again.

I bought this for years ago and I really like this refrigerator because it had an extra feature which you could use for drinks and dressings without opening the whole refrigerator the design was great The only problem was after the fourth year the Freon one out and I only had a three-year warranty but LG had a factory warranty up to five years so I was able to get a new parts for free

Does all the fridge things you could want

It keeps things cold it gives you ice and water and there is a cool door you can open without letting out all the cold from the big part. The compressor died after 4 years but they fixed it completely free under warranty. Overall 10/10 would recommend.

So far we are pleased with this replacement refrigerator except right before 4 years old the compressor or something went out of it. It isnt staying cold waiting for repairs to happen. We thought it was going to be fixed a lot sooner then it is. Hard to find a repair person to work on something that is under warranty. It has been a great refrigerator

Love the fridge - not the compressor

We bought our fridge in fall 2018 mainly because of the 10 year warranty. Little did we know that parts of the warranty only last for 5 years. Our fridge failed about three months before the five year mark. Thankfully LG covered the entire cost of replacing several parts. LG does not cover the replacement parts for very long though. I really hope and pray that the repaired fridge lasts at least another five years...preferably 20 like fridges of days gone by.

I bought this refrigerator in June of 2018 and 4 years later the compressor goes out. They cant find anyone to fix it in my area. Freon is on 2-3 months back order. They suggested paying to replace it but Ive yet to hear back about that. This has been going on for a couple weeks. No refrigerator for a couple of weeks is unsatisfactory. The ice maker was broken from day one. The ice maker had a part that finally was replaced. Four years later the compressor quit working. It has been about three months trying to get the unit repaired to now getting it replaced. Broke after 5 years not durable

Broke exactly after 5 years of using low quality that is not durable. The air cooler in both fridge and freezer side did not cool enough. Freezer could not make ice.

Bought 2.5 years ago. Stopped cooling a month ago. Tried to get service. rescheduled 3 times. Been a month now without a refrigerator. Rescheduled for today. Oct 6 between 1 and 5. It is now 3pm. Cannot get an update on service. Overall 0 out of 10 would NOT do again.

Loved the door in door feature

I purchased the door in door refrigerator in February of 2017 and absolutely loved it UNTIL August of 2021 when we began to have issues with the cooling. All came to a head in June of 2022 when the refrigerator simply stopped cooling and after 3 service calls and a new generator it still wasnt cooling. I worked with LG and received a 20 $500 discount on a new LG refrigerator. Time will tell

Great refrigerator...until it breaks

Its been good for 4 1/2 years. Then it stopped getting cold. Compressor is probably bad but cant get a repair. Its under warranty but it seems LG cant find anyone to work on it. Weve been without a refrigerator for two weeks. Not a word from LG except when I call them to get a status update of which there are none. We had to throw away about 6 garbage bags full of food and have been living out of an ice chest.

I bought the LG refrigerator several years ago

My LG refrigerator worked well for four years then stopped cooling completely. Luckily our warranty was still in effect because compressor was dead. Closest repair service was out of San Antonio TX. 2 1/2 hours away. No repair service in Corpus Christi Tx would work on LG. Three weeks later new compressor new board and two other parts. Long time to be without a refrigerator and loss of food

Love the side by side fridge w/ cool front door

Ive had this fridge for 6 years love the spacious freezer small front door opening on fridge part for quick to get items. I stock up a lot often think all this will never fit in the freezer but it always does Recently bought new house that came with a bigger fridge had to put this fridge in the garage and still love it its been a great extra fridge. Recently had to replace compressor loved that it was still covered with the 10 year warranty
